Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - short term psychotherapy approach directed at present issues causing distress. This is based on the idea that the way a person thinks and feels affects the way they ultimately behave. The goal is to identify problems and form new coping mechanisms to tackle those problems.

Trauma Focused CBT - similarly to traditional CBT, trauma focused CBT has an emphasis on patients who have experienced early trauma resulting in abuse, neglect or grief.

Psychodynamic Therapy - an in-depth form of talk therapy focusing on the patient's relationship with their external world. Patients are encouraged to speak freely about what comes to their mind with a goal of lessening the intensity of symptoms and increasing self-esteem.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - a nontraditional approach to psychotherapy created to diminish the negative feelings associated with trauma. EMDR focuses less on the traumatic event itself and more on the emotions and feelings surrounding the event. You will be guided through a desensitization and reprocessing through the use of hand motions or tapping behaviors that mimic how the brain processes and stores information.

Couples Therapy - utilize a combination of my clinical skill with the Gottman Method to help improve communication, increase respect and affection and remove barriers that can impact conflict resolution.
